Spicy Calamari Starter


Our Meal kit for TWO contains 

  • 2 portions prepped calamari
  • 2 servings  sweet chilli aioli
  • 2 servings rocket
  • Spicy Cornflour Mix 
  • Lemon


  1. Preheat a pan of Vegetable oil to circa 180C or untill bubbiling , your oil needs to be very hot !!!  ensure there is enough so it will cover the calamari
  2. Drain your calamari so you are just left with the Rings
  3. Place your cornflour in another bowl, add a pinch of salt & mix
  4. Toss the calamari into the bowl , move around till all your calamari is coated & remove any excess cornflour by placing it all in sieve.
  5. Carefully place the coated calamari into the pan, take care
  6. Cook for 4-5 mins only & every minuite or so move the calamari around so it doesn’t stick
  7. While cooking, plate up your pre-washed rocket & dress with some olive oil, a pinch of salt, spoon the aioli on to the plate & add the lemon for garnish
  8. Once the calamari is cooked plate up by removing them out of the pan
  9. (sometimes I sieve it out onto kitchen roll to try up the excess oil)
  10. Lightly season with Salt
