Seggiano has changed the name of its bestselling Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Passions ran high – as you might expect deep in the Tuscan countryside – surrounding red tape and provincial politics; the next thing we know it’s called Lunaio. A new moniker perhaps, but it's the same incredible olive oil. Maybe we all should all just go for a passeggiata to calm down.
Made predominantly from Olivastra Seggianese olives harvested in the groves surrounding the village of Seggiano. Cold extracted, these offer up fresh olive aromas with a creamy mouthfeel, alongside buttery, nutty and peppery undertones. This is a top-notch dipping oil that’s perfect for finishing dishes with the flourish of an artful drizzle. Whatever you do with it, do it with the Italian passion it deserves.
