As December brings to a close not only 2019, the end of the second decade of the “not so” new millennium (all sounds rather grand doesn’t it!). It also marks a very personal and significant milestone for everyone here at Devour. It heralds the first anniversary of the moment we first flung open our doors!
So let’s hear it Devourees, “Whoo Hooo Devour is ONE!”
If you’ll indulge me for just one moment – I’d like to say a very big thank you to everyone who has worked, supported and championed our little venture here on the banks of the river Holme over the past year. It has truly been a crazy and emotional rollercoaster from the very outset – admittedly, we’ve got a few little things wrong
(in hindsight Holmfirth was not ready for joint his and her toilets),
However, overall, I’d like to think we’ve got more things right!
We’ve had three amazing Supper Club events, where our talented chefs have prepared exciting taster menus inspired by “The River”, “Hunter, Gather, Forage” and “Fire”
with more to follow in 2020.
We’ve had various Pasta & Pizza making events (btw they make ideal gifts and socking fillers for Christmas if you are stuck) and launched our very own “La De Da” coffee range,
developed with our friends at Darkwoods Coffee.
PLUS we’re now open every
Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 9am for some amazing DEVOUR Breakfasts.
And did I mentioned we’re a NEW ENTRY in the Waitrose Good Food Guide for 2019!!
However, it’s the positive little words of support and enthusiasm from locals and guests, from far and wide, given to both myself and the Devour team that has meant the most – it really has been fantastic – we do like to think of ourselves as a small family, and it does make a massive difference - so again a big thanks to you all.
So here’s to a successful and exciting second year! (stay tuned Devourees!)
